The Khao Chae Festival by Jim Thompson Returns for Summer 2026
Experience the revival of a beloved Thai culinary tradition at the Jim Thompson Khao Chae Festival, featuring gourmet dishes and cultural heritage.
Jim Thompson, A Thai Restaurant, proudly presents its highly anticipated Khao Chae Festival, scheduled from March 14 to May 17, 2026. This festival celebrates Khao Chae, a cherished traditional dish that originated from royal courts in Thailand, offering a refined dining experience that beautifully merges classic Thai flavors with contemporary culinary trends.
The Khao Chae is known for its fragrant rice and floral-infused water. It is paired with seven exquisite side dishes, including Fried Shrimp Paste Balls, Sweet Preserved Chinese Radish, and Fried Stuffed Green Bell Peppers, all meticulously crafted to honor Thai cultural heritage.
For those who prefer takeaway, a limited-edition Jim Thompson Pinto Set, complete with a silk-adorned handle and canvas bag, will be available. The dining price for the Khao Chae set is $24 (890 Baht++), with only 50 sets available daily. Alternatively, the takeaway option is priced at $42 (1,550 Baht) or $39 (1,450 Baht) without the canvas bag, limited to 10 sets per day.
The festival is open daily from 11:30 AM to 4:30 PM at Jim Thompson, A Thai Restaurant, with reservations recommended. This event not only highlights Thailand’s culinary heritage but also provides a modern setting to enjoy this traditional dish.
