
Hong Kong's Culinary Scene Shines in Asia's Top 50 Best Restaurants
Two of Hong Kong's premier restaurants, The Chairman and Wing, have clinched the top spots in Asia's prestigious 50 Best Restaurants list for 2026, showcasing the city's culinary excellence.
Hong Kong has once again proven its culinary prowess, with two of its restaurants, The Chairman and Wing, claiming the top two positions in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026 list. The awards ceremony, held on March 25 in Hong Kong, marked the first time the event has taken place in the city, drawing over 1,000 culinary professionals and media from around the world.
The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) celebrated the city’s achievements, with its chairman, Peter Lam, expressing pride in Hong Kong’s dining scene. “This international award recognises the outstanding achievements of the culinary sector,” Lam stated. The city boasts over 200 restaurants listed in prestigious guides such as the MICHELIN Guide Hong Kong Macau 2026 and The Black Pearl Restaurant Guide.
Danny Yip, owner of The Chairman, expressed his delight at being named the best restaurant in Asia for the second time. “This recognition reflects the depth and diversity that define Hong Kong’s dining culture today,” Yip said.
Hong Kong’s culinary scene continues to thrive, with ten restaurants featured in the top 100 of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list. The city also saw an increase in entries in the Black Pearl Restaurant Guide, with 39 establishments now listed, including four newcomers.
The awards ceremony was part of a broader effort by the HKTB to promote Hong Kong’s gastronomic offerings. The board organised workshops and media visits to showcase the city’s diverse culinary culture, aiming to attract more visitors and solidify Hong Kong’s status as a culinary capital.
