The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has strengthened the Trusted Thailand initiative by forming a new strategic alliance with digital travel platform Agoda. This partnership merges the efforts of both public and private sectors to bolster safety, quality, and overall traveler confidence within Thailand’s tourism landscape.

TAT Governor, Thapanee Kiatphaibool, emphasized the significance of this partnership by stating that “Trusted Thailand reflects our commitment to raising tourism standards while ensuring travelers feel confident, informed, and secure when choosing Thailand. Partnering with Agoda allows us to extend this assurance through one of the world’s leading digital travel platforms.” He highlighted the importance of collaboration between public and private enterprises to deliver quality-focused travel experiences that contribute to Thailand’s long-term tourism development.

In a similar vein, Damien Pfirsch, Agoda’s Chief Commercial Officer, expressed excitement about the partnership, noting that by featuring certified partners and providing exclusive discounts, Agoda aims to promote travel to Thailand with added peace of mind and excellent value.

Enhancing Trust Through Agoda

The Trusted Thailand framework will certify tourism establishments that adhere to defined safety practices, secure payment systems, and multilingual communication. The collaboration with Agoda will enhance visibility for these certified establishments.

Key initiatives include the launch of a dedicated Trusted Thailand landing page on Agoda’s platform, providing an array of TAT-certified establishments. A phased rollout of the Trusted Thailand badge will also occur on participating property pages, initially introduced in Chinese markets to strengthen awareness and confidence among travelers.

Additionally, safety-focused travel guides, utilizing official TAT information, will be made available in English and eight other languages, including several Chinese variants. These guides will offer important safety information and be accessible through Agoda’s City Guides and QR code integration.

By leveraging Agoda’s extensive reach and solid regional standing, this initiative aims to instill confidence in international travelers, especially within the Asia-Pacific region, by providing clear assurances of quality and safety throughout the travel decision-making process. This effort will enhance visibility for Trusted Thailand-certified partners and solidify Thailand’s position as a safe and premium travel destination.
