To commemorate the Merdeka celebration, Element Kuala Lumpur has teamed up with Dilmah Tea to present the Merdeka Rasa Afternoon Tea. This thoughtfully curated tea experience honors Malaysia’s diverse culinary culture while showcasing the refined flavors associated with it.

The term Merdeka Rasa, which translates to “freedom of taste”, encapsulates the essence of this event as it celebrates the unique flavors, traditions, and narratives that define Malaysian identity.

Guests can savor this high tea at TRACE Restaurant & Bar, located on the 40th floor, offering stunning views of the Kuala Lumpur skyline. The afternoon tea features local ingredients presented with a global flair, accompanied by Dilmah’s premium tea selection and is available from August 1 to September 30, priced at RM168 nett for two persons, served daily from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Inspired Pairings: The offering begins with the refreshing Rosehip & Hibiscus Iced Tea, a floral drink blending hibiscus—the national flower of Malaysia—with citrus and mint. Each item in the afternoon tea is carefully designed to pair perfectly with specific Dilmah tea blends, enhancing the flavor.

Truly Malaysian Tastes: Crafted by the talented culinary team at Element Kuala Lumpur, this afternoon tea comprises six savory and five sweet items, all having their own distinct stories. Among the savory highlights are the Pulled Beef Rendang Brisket & Mushroom Vol-au-Vent and the Lobster Roll with Garlic Cheese Sauce. On the dessert side, there’s the chef’s pride, the Pandan Cranberries Scone, which took nearly two years to perfect, ensuring a delightful balance when served with clotted cream and jam.

Notable sweets also include the Honey Chamomile Jelly and the Peach Tea Cream Cheese Mousse, both infused with Dilmah teas. Further, participants will find a creative selection, including Cucumber & Tuna Tataki and BBQ Grilled Chicken Tortilla Wraps. To conclude the experience, guests receive two packs of Dilmah Flavored Green Tea to enjoy at home.
