CEO David Lavorel delivered these insights along with financial results during SITA’s annual general assembly in Geneva, Switzerland. He stated: > “With air traffic projected to rise 7% between 2025 and 2027, our infrastructure must adapt. Travelers seek greater convenience, and regulatory demands are intensifying. However, transformation presents vast opportunities. Our objective is to provide the necessary tech to enhance passenger flow, aircraft movement, and operational efficiency.”
2024 Financial Performance
SITA experienced an 8.3% boost in revenue reaching $1.6 billion, propelled primarily by robust activity in its Airports, Borders, and Aircraft sectors across all regions. Strategic expansions and innovative products empowered customers to adapt swiftly and perform with increased agility.

Continuous Transformation
SITA’s evolution has been crucial to this progress. In 2024, they enhanced delivery, digitalized service frameworks, and incorporated new competencies necessary for industry innovation. By leveraging AI, cloud technology, digital ID, and real-time information, SITA supports airports and airlines in quickly adapting and efficiently managing operations.
Noteworthy Acquisitions
Key developments included SITA’s acquisition of Materna IPS, enabling rapid, automated passenger check-ins through a leading passenger processing system. Additional acquisitions include ASISTIM, which centralized airline operations management, and the launch of SmartSea, extending SITA’s expertise to cruise and rail sectors. Their recent purchase of Italian airport design specialists CCM aims to facilitate optimal passenger flow during airport and terminal design processes.
Commitment to Sustainability
On sustainability, over 40 airlines currently utilize SITA OptiFlight, contributing to an estimated savings of 308,000 tons of CO₂ emissions in 2024—equivalent to over 1,000 global commercial flights. SITA’s Eco Mission, Total Optimizer, and eWAS solutions exemplify the transportation industry’s proactive approach towards substantial areas requiring action.
Moving forward, SITA aims for net-zero emissions by 2050, committing to an annual reduction of 4.2% in their carbon footprint.
