ATOAI, MOT, and IITTM Successfully Finish RATG Course in Chennai

The ATOAI, partnered with the Ministry of Tourism and IITTM, completes the Responsible Adventure Tourism Guide Course in Chennai.

The Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI), in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, and IITTM, proudly announces the completion of the Responsible Adventure Tourism Guide Course (RATG) held in Chennai from December 16 to 19, 2024.

Sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism, this training initiative showcases a commitment to promoting safe and quality practices in adventure tourism across all five regions of India.

This important program aims to foster safer, sustainable, and responsible adventure tourism practices in India and has been delivered with the support of Mr. D. Venkatesan, Regional Director at the Ministry, along with his dedicated team and the Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Chennai.

The intensive four-day course was conducted by the Hanifl Center, a leading authority in wilderness first aid and sustainable adventure education, training 31 adventure guides from the southern region of India. It covered essential topics such as Wilderness First Aid, CPR, Leave No Trace principles, and professional adventure guiding techniques.

The program concluded with participants taking the Honorary Warden Pledge, pledging to uphold safe and sustainable practices in adventure tourism.

This marks a significant milestone in ATOAI’s mission to ensure adventure tourism advances alongside preservation.
