
The Lufthansa Group has placed an order for additional Airbus A350-1000 aircraft, increasing its total firm orders from ten to fifteen. Deliveries of these aircraft are expected between 2028 and 2031, valued at approximately two billion USD at list price. Lufthansa Group’s Fleet Modernization
With a total of 60 A350-900s and 15 A350-1000s on order, Lufthansa is now one of the largest customers of Airbus’s A350 series.
Carsten Spohr, Chairman and CEO of Deutsche Lufthansa AG, stated:
“Our order today underscores our great confidence in our long-standing, close and successful partnership with Airbus. With the state-of-the-art A350 long-haul jets, we are accelerating the largest fleet modernization in our history.”

The airline aims to reduce its CO₂ emissions and achieve a neutral CO₂ balance by 2050. As part of this initiative, the new A350-1000s are designed to consume up to 35% less fuel than their predecessors.
