Shangri-La Group Opens Its First Hotel in Cambodia: Shangri-La Phnom Penh
The Shangri-La Group announced the official opening of the Shangri-La Phnom Penh on Saturday, December 28. As Shangri-La’s first venture into Cambodia, this new hotel aims to provide both local and international travelers with a memorable experience of Shangri-La’s signature Asian hospitality in the heart of the nation’s capital.
A Vibrant Location
Strategically located in Koh Pich, one of Phnom Penh’s most lively neighborhoods, the Shangri-La Phnom Penh is part of a stunning tri-tower architectural landmark that reaches 228 meters high, making it one of the tallest structures in the city. Guests staying in the 303 rooms and suites will enjoy breathtaking views of the confluence of the Mekong, Tonle Sap, and Tonle Bassac rivers, creating an unforgettable ambiance that highlights the beauty of Phnom Penh.
The hotel features interior aesthetics combining Art Deco, Neoclassical, and Khmer cultural elements while reflecting Shangri-La’s timeless style and Asian heritage. Warm wood accents and natural stones enhance the serene atmosphere, encouraging guests to relax in their personal waterfront sanctuary.
A Delectable Heritage
Culinary delights at Shangri-La Phnom Penh will emphasize Cambodia’s rich local heritage, focusing on fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Kommune Dining & Social Space offers an opportunity to indulge in authentic Khmer dishes such as Beef Lok Lak and Fish Amok, thereby supporting the local agricultural economy and providing an immersive dining experience.
Additional dining options, including the Shangri-La Group’s signature Chinese restaurant, Shang Palace, and the Altitude rooftop bar, are set to open next year, enhancing the hotel’s gastronomic offerings.
For Business and Pleasure
Shangri-La Phnom Penh also provides extensive facilities tailored to leisure and business visitors. With one of the city’s largest ballrooms, the hotel aims to become a premier venue for significant events, conferences, and social gatherings, supporting the growth of Cambodia’s business tourism sector. Guests can also unwind at the infinity pool and spa wellness center, promising relaxation and well-being.
These facilities will progressively open in the coming months.
