Royal Jordanian Airlines Set to Reinstate Routes to India

The Amman-based flag carrier, Royal Jordanian (RJ), has announced plans to resume flights to Mumbai (BOM) and Delhi (DEL) starting in 2025. RJ recently shared an Instagram update detailing these routes, although the exact start date has yet to be confirmed, with expectations pointing to a July resumption.

These routes have been dormant for over ten years, as flights to Mumbai were halted on September 10, 2014, and to Delhi on October 31, 2014, due to low passenger demand.

Expected Benefits

Dr. Abed Al Razzaq Arabiyat, managing director of Jordan’s Tourism Board, expressed optimism that the return of services will significantly aid travelers and reaffirm Royal Jordanian’s pivotal role in enhancing connectivity across the Middle East-India corridor.

In 2023, more than 75,000 passengers traveled between Jordan and India, signifying a robust potential market that the reintroduction of these flights aims to tap into. By renewing these vital routes, the airline seeks to facilitate not only passenger travel but also trade, tourism, and cultural exchanges between the two nations.
