As the new year begins, many Brits are outlining their travel ambitions for 2025. According to a recent survey by Scenic Cruises, nearly half (46%) intend to travel more frequently, while 58% are committed to visiting a new country.
Scenic Cruises partnered with luxury travel creator Britt Scatena, who travels monthly to generate content for her brand. Britt provided her top tips for formulating meaningful travel goals and sticking to them.
Key Travel Priorities for 2025
The study indicates that British travelers are leaning towards a balance of adventure and relaxation in their upcoming travel plans. Exploration takes the spotlight, with 58% set on visiting new countries, followed by 51% planning more frequent short getaways. Wellness and relaxation are also rising in importance, with 44% emphasizing self-care-centric travel experiences.
Additional popular resolutions include all-inclusive trips (31%), exploring a new continent (21%), multi-destination adventures (20%), sustainable travel (19%), once-in-a-lifetime excursions (18%), and adventure travel (16%).
Most Desired Travel Experiences
History leads the list of new experiences for 2025, as 53% of respondents are keen to explore ancient sites and cultural landmarks. Following closely are wildlife encounters (43%) and food and wine tours (38%), highlighting a notable interest in nature and culinary explorations.
Among other options are engaging in active travel like hiking and kayaking (28%), immersive experiences (25%), musical cultural experiences like ballet or opera (24%), exclusive activities like private tastings (22%), and thrilling endeavors like helicopter rides (20%).
Rise in Interest for Wildlife Travel
The internet’s fascination with viral animal stories has sparked greater enthusiasm for wildlife travel among Brits. Over a third (35%) expressed heightened interest in wildlife excursions after hearing about animals like Moo Deng the baby hippo and Pesto the penguin. Notably, 18% are planning wildlife observation trips in 2025, with 17% eager to spot wild hippos and 13% interested in seeing wild penguins.
