AIDA Cruise & Help Invests in Education by Funding 60th School in Africa
AIDA Cruises' CSR initiative extends its support to the Okanguati Primary School in Namibia, enhancing educational opportunities in underprivileged regions.
AIDA Cruise & Help continues to enhance educational opportunities in the world’s poorest areas by extending its support to a 60th school, located in Africa.
AIDA Cruises’ president Felix Eichhorn personally visited the Okanguati Primary School in Namibia to underscore its significance to the local population.
Accompanying him was Reiner Meutsch, founder of the FLY & HELP Foundation and a long-time partner of AIDA Cruises. The two toured the community and engaged with teachers and students present.
Eichhorn remarked on the school, stating: “The curiosity and cheerfulness of the children from the Kaokoveld in Okanguati is precisely why AIDA Cruise & Help is collecting donations and building schools. We are very pleased that our initiative has already provided countless children in disadvantaged regions of the world with a permanent place in school. In this way, we are providing children and future generations with access to an education and thus with a real chance for a better future. Our crew and guests’ impressive commitment demonstrates that we can achieve great things together.”
Funding for Learning
AIDA Cruises established its first educational project in Cebu City, Philippines, back in 2019, with the construction fully funded by donations through AIDA Cruise & Help. Since then, numerous other schools across twelve countries have joined the cruise line’s list of beneficiaries.
With the funding of its 60th school, the AIDA Cruise & Help initiative marks yet another significant milestone. All 60 projects, with an estimated 7,000 sustainable school places, are underway, with 40 schools already in session.
