Emirates' A350-900 Takes Flight with Thales' Next-Gen Inflight Entertainment

Emirates and Thales Celebrate New Era of Inflight Experience

On January 3, 2025, Emirates launched its first A350-900 aircraft on a flight from Dubai to Edinburgh, featuring the innovative AVANT Up inflight entertainment system from Thales. This collaboration promises a more personalized flying experience.

Thales’s advanced inflight entertainment system offers over 30 new features, delivered via 4K QLED HDR displays for a top-notch visual experience. The system also includes Bluetooth connections, Wi-Fi, and a renowned power management solution that ensures devices stay charged during the flight.

“Thales is honoured to celebrate alongside Emirates the airline’s first A350 taking flight. We are excited for Emirates passengers to experience the next-generation of in-flight entertainment on ice powered by AVANT Up,” Niels Steenstrup, Chief Executive Officer of Thales InFlyt Experience, stated.

AVANT Up’s capabilities will cater to various customer preferences, enabling passengers to save viewing preferences and receive tailored recommendations. Emirates also introduces unique event-based live TV and digital video recording capabilities, marking a significant leap in inflight entertainment.

The collaboration emphasizes accessible travel, with a user interface tailored for passengers with vision assistance needs, facilitating an inclusive travel experience.
