Bahrain Surf Park to Open by 2026
Bahrain has announced the launch of Bahrain Surf Park – Club Hawaii Experience, the first surf park in the MENA region to utilize advanced ‘Wavegarden Cove’ technology from Spain. This park is set to open in early 2026 on Bahrain’s southwest coast.
Bahrain Surf Park honors Hawaii as the birthplace of surfing and aims to embody its spirit throughout the attractions. The state-of-the-art technology is designed for minimal energy consumption and can accommodate up to 90 surfers, generating 1,000 waves per hour.
The park will provide over 140,000 surfing sessions annually, offering training programs for all skill levels at the Club Hawaii Surf Academy.
Additionally, it will include various dining options, retail spaces, terrace views, and an event area, with plans for an international surfing competition in 2026.
Developed in partnership between Edamah and GFH Financial Group, this project will become a centerpiece of the Bilaj Al Jazayer megaproject, recognized as Bahrain’s Best Leisure Development by the Arabian Property Awards.
With a masterplan covering 1.3 million square meters, Bahrain Surf Park is expected to attract around 300,000 visitors each year.
Victoria Williams stated: “I am extremely proud to be involved in creating the first Wavegarden ‘Cove’ powered surf park in the Middle East. It will be a place for everyone to enjoy, regardless of their surfing experience.”
Fernando Odriozola added: “Bahrain Surf Park is going to be an amazing destination for surfers and tourists, with its consistent waves of various shapes and sizes.”
This ground-breaking location will highlight Bahrain as a rising surfing destination.
