Return of the Samla International Race to Qatar in 2027

The Samla International Race, a grueling endurance competition, will make its return on January 23, 2027, in Qatar.

Visit Qatar, in collaboration with the Qatar Challenge Racing Club (Samla), has announced the return of the Samla International Race on January 23, 2027. This challenging endurance event will welcome both male and female participants from around the globe, cementing its status as one of Qatar’s most demanding races.

Since its inception in 2017, the Samla Race has become a flagship sporting event, attracting elite athletes and endurance enthusiasts. The previous edition saw competitors from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) making up approximately 10% of the participants, showcasing the race’s growing regional appeal.

Renowned for testing athletes’ physical and mental limits, the Samla International Race spans a total distance of 100 kilometers that must be completed in a 12-hour timeframe. It comprises four endurance disciplines: swimming, running, cycling, and kayaking, each designed to challenge stamina and resilience across various terrains and conditions.

As the official partner, Visit Qatar continues to support initiatives that enhance Qatar’s reputation as a leading destination for sports tourism and international events. Additional details regarding registration and participation guidelines will be released soon, promising another exciting edition of this prestigious race.
