Plaza Premium Group to Host Global Solo Singing Competition
The upcoming Solo Singing Competition by Plaza Premium Group aims to enhance employee engagement and support environmental initiatives.
Plaza Premium Group (PPG) is preparing to host its first global Solo Singing Competition on April 27 at the Concert Hall of the Hong Kong City Hall. This event, in partnership with the Hong Kong Virtuoso Chorus, is designed to enhance employee engagement and promote environmental projects, with profits supporting the “Plant a Choral Seed” initiative in Bhutan.
Founded almost 30 years ago in Hong Kong, PPG is a pioneer in airport hospitality, with operations in 600 airports across 150 countries. The company emphasizes employee well-being as part of its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategy. The PPG Choir, comprised of employees, exemplifies this commitment by fostering unity through music.
The competition will showcase performers from various PPG markets in a live event in Hong Kong. This initiative seeks to strengthen connections across borders, enhance pride in the brand founded in Hong Kong, and provide employees a creative outlet outside their daily work. Additionally, it serves as a model for integrating cultural initiatives into broader ESG strategies.
Linda Song, Co-Founder and Executive Director at PPG, highlighted the significance of this initiative for fostering inclusion and community development. “This competition demonstrates how HR and business leaders can incorporate culture-building into a wider ESG and people-centric agenda,” she stated.
The competition aims to highlight musical talent while offering insights into PPG’s strategies for employee engagement and retention, providing valuable lessons for organizations aiming to create authentic, people-focused programs that extend beyond traditional ESG metrics.
