Tickets on Sale This Wednesday for Caminito del Rey Visits from June 30 to December 6

Starting April 8, tickets will be available for public visits to the Caminito del Rey through the official website.

This Wednesday, April 8, ticket sales will commence for visits to the Caminito del Rey from June 30 to December 6 of this year. Tickets will be available starting at 10:00 AM for the general public, organized tours, and travel agencies through the official website www.caminitodelrey.info.

A total of about 220,000 tickets are expected for this trail, which remains highly sought after by visitors. Visits can occur from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, and starting in late October, with the introduction of winter hours, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. During that period, eleven Mondays will be open: July 13 and 27; August 10, 17, and 24; September 7, 14, and 21; October 12 and 19; and November 2.

The standard entrance fee remains at 10 euros, with a limit of ten tickets per buyer. An option that includes an official guided visit, available in Spanish and English for groups of up to 30 people, costs 18 euros. As for restrictions, children under eight years old cannot access the Caminito. Those over that age must provide age verification with an original ID or Family Book, and visitors under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

The Caminito del Rey has a visitor reception center in Ardales, providing information about the area and its surroundings and offering parking for 240 vehicles. The parking fee is 2 euros for the entire day and can be paid online when purchasing the ticket; it is recommended to park at least one hour prior to the visit. A shuttle bus departs from the parking lot to the Caminito, the ticket is valid for the whole day and can be purchased online or paid in cash to the driver (only in that case). The cost of the bus ride is 2.50 euros.

Managed currently by UTE Sando Salzillo Servicios Integrales and Mundo Management, the Caminito del Rey is an aerial path situated on the cliffs of the Natural Park of the Desfiladero de los Gaitanes, within the municipalities of Álora, Ardales, and Antequera. The trail runs alongside the Guadalhorce River after crossing the reservoirs of El Chorro, Guadalhorce, Guadalteba, and Gaitanejo, spanning 3 kilometers in length and merely 1 meter in width. One of its most emblematic features is the cantilever, a walkway suspended 105 meters above the ground.

In addition to its scenic value, the visit provides opportunities to observe unique flora and fauna linked to rocky habitats. Notable is the presence of Rupicapnos africana subsp. decipiens, a plant endemic to certain limestone mountains in Andalusia and Morocco. As for rock-associated birds, notable species include the griffon vulture, red-billed chough, and common swift, while certain threatened species like the golden eagle, peregrine falcon, bonelli’s eagle, and Egyptian vulture are less frequent.

To balance the conservation of natural heritage with public use, the area is regulated by the Natural Resource Management Plan, which establishes permissible activities and conditions for responsible visits. Interested parties are advised to consult the official website and plan ahead, especially for visits on Tuesdays or Thursdays or during peak demand periods.
