Swan Hellenic Launches 2026–2028 Antarctic Expedition Cruises Following Successful Season

Swan Hellenic announces new Antarctic expeditions for 2026–2028, expecting to host approximately 11,200 guests after a record-breaking year.

Swan Hellenic has opened bookings for its 2026–2028 Antarctic expedition seasons aboard SH Minerva, SH Vega, and SH Diana after a record-breaking year in guest numbers and awards in the Antarctic region.

With the 2026–2027 program already 65% sold, the cultural expedition company anticipates welcoming around 11,200 guests across its voyages over the two seasons. The significant growth in 2025–2026 saw guest numbers rise by 53% and net revenue increase by 66% year-on-year.

Record Growth And Rising Demand For Antarctica

Bookings for 2026–2027 are already exceeding expectations, as demand for expert-led, small-ship expeditions continues to flourish. Swan Hellenic has received accolades, including Cruise Critic’s 2025 Best in Cruise Awards for Best Expedition – Antarctica and Best Value Expedition Cruise Line for the third year running.

In March, SH Minerva set a new brand record by venturing further south than ever before.

2026–2027 Antarctic Season: 33 Voyages, Three Ships, One White Continent

For the upcoming season, all three ice-class ships will operate together, offering 33 voyages featuring round-trip expeditions from Ushuaia lasting 9–17 days, as well as four Grand Voyages that connect Antarctica with regions in South America, Africa, and New Zealand.

Highlights include:

  • 29 round-trip expeditions from Ushuaia focused on the Antarctic Peninsula.
  • A 14-day voyage from Ushuaia to Montevideo.
  • A 20-day journey from Cape Town to Ushuaia via the Falkland Islands.
  • A 32-day semi-circumnavigation from Ushuaia to Dunedin, New Zealand.

2027–2028 Antarctic Season: 34 Voyages And Deeper Ross Sea Exploration

The subsequent season will feature 34 voyages that delve into less-visited regions, combining classic Peninsula sailings with longer journeys linking to South America, the South Atlantic, and Southern Ocean.

Key itineraries include:

  • 29 round-trip Ushuaia expeditions.
  • A 17-day voyage from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia.
  • SH Diana’s route from Cape Town to Ushuaia, including stops at Tristan da Cunha and South Georgia.
  • A 32-day semi-circumnavigation by SH Minerva in the Ross Sea.

Across both seasons, Swan Hellenic anticipates increasing its offerings to 67 departures and continuing its robust growth trajectory.

SH Minerva and SH Vega are recognized for their high ice-class ratings, ensuring their capability to navigate challenging waters safely. With capacities ranging from 152 to 192 guests, Swan Hellenic prioritizes expedition experiences and direct nature interaction.
