Embraer Institute Celebrates 25 Years of Transformational Education

The Embraer Institute marks a quarter-century of commitment to enhancing education for underprivileged youth in Brazil, significantly impacting communities.

The Embraer Institute is celebrating its 25th anniversary, marking a quarter-century of dedication to transforming education for low-income youth in Brazil. This milestone was commemorated with an event in São José dos Campos, Brazil, attended by 300 individuals, including students, educators, and volunteers. The Institute’s mission is to provide quality education and promote civic development, creating long-term social impact.

Founded in 2001, the Embraer Institute operates two high schools in São Paulo State, which are pivotal in driving social and economic development. These schools boast an impressive admission rate of over 80% to public universities, serving 720 students annually. The selection process is competitive, with 15 applicants per spot, and 80% of students receive social scholarships covering tuition, meals, and other expenses.

Andreza Alberto, Embraer’s Vice President of People, ESG, and Corporate Communications, emphasized the Institute’s commitment to changing the reality of low-income youth through educational excellence. “This educational work generates solid and lasting results, preparing new generations to face their challenges with greater confidence and more opportunities,” she stated.

The Institute’s educational model also emphasizes active citizenship, aiming to cultivate leaders for a sustainable world. Director André Tachard noted the positive impact of strategic partnerships and programmes like Ciência Diversa, Asas do Bem, and Climate Emergency.

Since its inception, the Embraer Institute has graduated 5,500 students, supported over 1,000 alumni with scholarships, and engaged 5% of Embraer employees in its initiatives. With over 23,000 people positively impacted by its community engagement efforts, the Institute continues to play a vital role in shaping a fairer and more inclusive society.
