Marriott International has launched its Series by Marriott brand in Japan with the grand opening of the Sugata Hotel Osaka Shinsaibashi. This 256-room hotel is located in the lively Shinsaibashi district, a central commercial hub in Osaka. The hotel aims to provide travelers with authentic local experiences reflected in its design and curated offerings, marking an important milestone for the Series brand in the Asia Pacific area.

The Series by Marriott brand is designed to connect travelers to the heart of each destination, with the Sugata Hotel exemplifying this through the incorporation of Osaka’s local culture and ambiance. Cristiano Rinaldi, Chief Lodging Product and Services Officer for Asia Pacific at Marriott International, emphasized the property’s commitment to creating meaningful experiences through thoughtful design and local storytelling.

Situated within walking distance of notable sights such as Shinsaibashisuji Shopping Street and Dotonbori, the hotel enables seamless access to Osaka’s vibrant culture and entertainment. It is conveniently located just 300 meters from Shinsaibashi Station for easy travels throughout the city.

The hotel features modern guest rooms that capture the warmth and culture of Osaka, alongside communal spaces designed to encourage guest interaction. Dining options include Ampere Coffee & Kitchen, which offers a mix of local and international cuisine.

Yuji Tanaka, Market Vice President for Japan at Marriott, articulated the company’s dedication to introducing brands that appeal to contemporary travelers. Hiroyuki Oki, CEO of EastGate Hospitality, remarked that the hotel serves as a home base for visitors to experience Osaka like a local, embodying the philosophy of sugata—the way something appears or manifests in the world.
