Cathay Pacific and Rugby For Good Initiate Wellness Carnival
The first-ever 'Cathay GET SET MOVE Carnival' fosters physical and mental health among students in collaboration with Rugby For Good.
Cathay Pacific, in partnership with Rugby For Good, has launched the inaugural Cathay GET SET MOVE Carnival to enhance the physical and mental wellbeing of students. The carnival, which took place on March 28, included rugby matches, coaching sessions, and interactive games, symbolizing the commencement of the GET SET MOVE program.
The initiative aims to align with the Hong Kong government’s 4Rs charter—Rest, Relaxation, Resilience, and Relationships—via rugby, targeting over 10,000 students this year as it becomes part of secondary school PE classes.
Among the highlights was the introduction of the Cathay GET SET MOVE Mobile Hub, resembling an airplane, which will visit more than 40 primary and secondary Po Leung Kuk schools, facilitating greater access for students towards experiencing the 4Rs.
Ivan Chan, Cathay’s General Manager of Corporate Affairs, expressed, “In celebrating 80 years of Cathay, our goal is to make a positive impact on 80,000 lives. The ‘Cathay Get, Set, Move Programme’ is crucial to achieving this vision.”
Ben Harris, Chairman of Rugby For Good, remarked, “This program offers students an engaging journey. Our goal is to demonstrate that prioritizing mental wellness can be as fun as participating in a sport.”
Olympic medalist Siobhán Haughey, also acting as Cathay’s Brand Ambassador, inspired students to tackle difficulties and sustain their enthusiasm, reiterating the significance of self-care and resilience.
