Hong Kong launches Mega 8 Arts and Culture Campaign

The Hong Kong Tourism Board has unveiled a new campaign to position the city as the leading destination for arts and culture in Asia.

The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has officially launched the Hong Kong Mega 8 campaign, designed to highlight the city as the epicenter of arts and events within Asia through a series of engaging cultural, pop culture, and sporting events. This initiative is set to run throughout March and April, aiming to attract international visitors to discover Hong Kong’s dynamic artistic atmosphere and cultural richness.

The campaign includes eight significant events, featuring the Asian premiere of Art Basel’s “Zero 10” program, presenting digital art at Art Basel Hong Kong. Notably, South Korean digital artist DeeKay will display his project, “DeePle the People,” projected onto the iconic Hong Kong Club Building from March 24 to 29. DeeKay shared his enthusiasm for engaging a diverse audience, stating, “I wanted to reflect the city as a living, moving place shaped by its people, its rhythm, and its cultural vibrancy.”

Additionally, the campaign presents the “Hong Kong Art Month Discovery Guide,* *providing visitors with travel information and event details across various art districts. Participants can delve into exhibitions, performances, and dining experiences in neighborhoods such as Central, Wan Chai, and the West Kowloon Cultural District.

To further enrich the cultural encounters, ArtHouse Tai Hang 2026 will convert historical residences into art and dining venues, while Hongkong Land’s “Art Walk in Central” will feature guided tours and public art interactions. The season will culminate with a lively street celebration on March 29.

HKTB Chairman Peter Lam underscored the campaign’s objective to maximize economic benefits by enhancing visitor experiences and developing business opportunities for local sectors. The initiative emphasizes Hong Kong’s dedication to retaining its status as a prime destination for arts and culture.
