Mantis Hiddn Opens as a Luxurious Off-Grid Retreat in Addo

Accor's Mantis Collection has launched a luxury mountain retreat in Eastern Cape's Addo Elephant National Park, focusing on wellness and eco-friendly experiences.

Accor’s Mantis Collection has officially opened Mantis Hiddn in Addo, a luxury off-grid mountain retreat located in the Eastern Cape’s Addo Elephant National Park. This new addition to the Mantis portfolio provides a unique escape, allowing guests to connect with nature and themselves through personalized wellness and nature-led experiences.

Mantis Hiddn in Addo is set within an 800-hectare private reserve, offering 12 suites and two private villas designed to blend seamlessly with the surrounding landscape. The retreat is powered by solar energy and features eco-friendly architecture. Guests can enjoy panoramic mountain views, private decks, and, in select suites, wood-fired hot tubs. The villas provide complete seclusion with infinity pools and private butler service.

The retreat focuses on wellness through the Mantis Wellness Wheel, encompassing physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and environmental dimensions. Guests can partake in activities such as art therapy, botanical therapies, and guided meditation. Culinary experiences are equally bespoke, with menus co-created by guests and chefs, featuring locally sourced ingredients and South African wines.

Craig Erasmus, CEO of Mantis Collection, stated, “Mantis Hiddn in Addo marks a return to our Eastern Cape roots, where our story began and continues to unfold.”

Rates start from $1,500 (£1,500) per suite per night, inclusive of accommodation, transfers, meals, and curated experiences. The retreat can be combined with other South African destinations, offering a comprehensive travel experience.
