This event signifies a pivotal move in establishing Thailand as a premier destination for sustainable tourism while delivering enduring benefits for local populations.

According to Thapanee Kiatphaibool, the TAT Governor, “Hosting GSTC 2026 is a significant milestone aimed at uplifting standards, enhancing knowledge sharing, and reaffirming Thailand’s dedication to responsible tourism that benefits both society and the environment.”

Teeraphong Chuaychoo, Vice Governor of Phuket Province, added, “We are honored to host GSTC 2026, demonstrating Phuket’s readiness as an international conference locale. Comprehensive measures have been initiated to guarantee safety and eco-friendly management practices.”

The event is expected to draw around 600 delegates from over 30 countries, including policymakers, academics, and sustainability experts, aiming to address key areas such as carbon reduction and community development in tourism.
