United Airlines Partners with Chef's Table to Enhance Inflight Dining
United Airlines elevates its inflight dining experience by introducing exclusive culinary menus curated by renowned chefs, starting August 1, 2026.
United Airlines is set to revolutionize inflight dining by teaming up with Chef’s Table, the creators of the acclaimed Netflix series, to provide ten unique, chef-designed meal experiences within the United Polaris international business class, commencing August 1, 2026.
United x Chef’s Table: A New Era for Inflight Dining
Beginning August 1, passengers in United Polaris will savor complete meal experiences crafted by 11 distinguished chefs from four continents. Every menu will include an appetizer, salad, and entrée, all inspired by the chef’s hometown, transforming long flights into exceptional culinary adventures at an altitude of 35,000 feet.
United’s CCO, Andrew Nocella, articulated that this partnership leverages the airline’s extensive network in major culinary capitals, providing “restaurant-quality moments in the sky.” Justin Connor, President of Chef’s Table Projects, described it as a remarkable opportunity to showcase the creativity of the series’ chefs directly to travelers.
World-renowned Chefs, Regionally Inspired Menus
The chef lineup encompasses James Beard Award winners, Michelin-starred owners, and culinary visionaries representing United’s seven U.S. hubs and international gateways. Each chef will design dishes that embody the flavors, ingredients, and narratives of their cities, offering travelers a “taste” of their destinations even before landing.
Highlighted chefs include:
- Los Angeles – Nancy Silverton, Osteria Mozza (Italian artisan ingredients)
- New York/Newark – Fariyal Abdullahi, Hav & Mar (Ethiopian and European fusion)
- São Paulo – Manu Buffara, Manu (bold Brazilian flavors)
- Chicago – Jenner Tomaska, Esmé / The Alston (French technique)
- Houston – Justin Yu, Theodore Rex (refined dining with French touches)
- Denver – Penelope Wong, Yuan Wonton (Asian American dishes)
- San Francisco – David Barzelay, Lazy Bear (modern American cuisine)
- Washington, D.C. – Isabel Coss & Matt Conroy, Lutèce (French and Mexican flavors)
- London – Tomos Parry, Mountain & Brat (open-fire cooking)
- Tokyo – Tashi Gyamtso, Jimgu (farm-to-table menus)
What Polaris Travelers Can Expect
On eligible international flights departing from these chefs’ cities, the entirety of the meal service will highlight their signature culinary styles, ensuring authentic flavors and refined presentations suited for in-flight dining.
This initiative aligns with a broader trend in premium travel, where airlines collaborate with prominent chefs to refine their business class offerings. Yet, United’s expansive roster of 11 chefs and tie-in to Chef’s Table’s culinary narrative differentiate this collaboration as a deeply immersive experience for travelers.
Why This Matters for Premium Travelers
For frequent travelers and points members, the new Chef’s Table alliance provides yet another strong incentive to select United Polaris for international flights. Instead of standard inflight meals, passengers will enjoy menus from renowned chefs, accessible simply by booking the appropriate route and cabin.
This also emphasizes the evolving bond between travel and food tourism, highlighting that experiencing local culinary delights is now an integral part of the journey, not just an added benefit at one’s final destination. By showcasing culinary hubs like Los Angeles and Tokyo in the skies, United is positioning the Polaris experience as the initial chapter of the traveler’s gastronomic journey.
