Spring Signals the Start of the High Cruise Season at the Port of Málaga

The spring season kicks off the high cruise season at Málaga's port, expecting 172,000 passengers this year.

The spring season arrives at the Port of Málaga, marking the beginning of the peak cruise tourism period. From March 15 to June 29, about 172,000 passengers are expected to arrive aboard 117 ships, confirming figures comparable to the previous year. The campaign launches with a standout vessel: the exclusive Four Seasons Yacht, which is making its inaugural itinerary and celebrating its christening in Málaga. With a maximum capacity of 190 passengers, it will dock at the Terminal del Palmeral from today until Tuesday, March 17, providing cruisers with a unique experience just five minutes from the city center.

Simultaneously, 66 luxury and premium ships are scheduled from March to June, representing more than half of the total planned arrivals, reaffirming the upward trend in this tourism segment. In addition to the aforementioned vessel, two ships will disembark in Málaga for the first time, including the Legend of the Seas from Royal Caribbean, which will conclude the season on June 29 and will be the first European port of call for this vessel coming from the Caribbean on its inaugural journey, marking the start of its summer season in the Mediterranean.

The Port of Málaga will host 21 home port calls, with cruise lines such as MSC Cruises, Marella Cruises, Sea Cloud, and Star Clippers listed among them. During this period, Málaga can receive a maximum of four cruises on the same day during key dates, specifically on April 13, May 2, May 5, and June 26. On these dates, both small and large ship arrivals will coincide, enhancing the variety of excursions while ensuring sustainable control of tourist flow generated by maritime transit.
