About Viking Eldir
Delivered at Meyer’s Neptun Werft shipyard in Rostock‑Warnemünde, Germany, Viking Eldir joins the fleet with accommodations for 190 guests and 95 staterooms, ready to navigate popular routes on the Rhine, Main and Danube.
Innovative Design
Guests can anticipate a distinctive Scandinavian look combined with cutting-edge features, which include a space-efficient square bow and three lavish decks with an indoor/outdoor Aquavit Terrace. The layout ensures a bright, airy feel throughout the ship.
Where Will Viking Eldir Sail?
Viking Eldir is set to navigate several highly sought-after European river itineraries:
- Rhine Getaway: An eight-day journey between Amsterdam and Basel, showcasing stunning castles and picturesque vineyards.
- Grand European Tour: A comprehensive 15-day experience linking the Rhine, Main, and Danube traveling from Amsterdam to Budapest.
- Passage to Eastern Europe: This route ventures down the lower Danube into Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, and Romania.
- European Sojourn: This extensive Amsterdam to Bucharest journey connects various rivers and regions.
- Christmas on the Rhine: Celebrate the festive season with visits to charming Christmas markets along the way.

Expanding Fleet
The launch of Viking Eldir aligns with Viking’s strategic growth plan, expecting to welcome 22 additional river ships, 10 ocean vessels, and 2 expedition ships by 2031. This expansion will significantly enhance travel options and availability for tourists keen on these renowned routes.
