Chinese New Year Festival 2026 in Thailand

The Amazing Thailand Happy Chinese New Year 2026 Festival commenced on February 14th and runs until February 18th. This grand event celebrates the Lunar New Year, ushering in the Year of the Horse.

During the opening ceremony held at Siam Paragon, Thai minister of tourism and sports Artthakorn Sirilatthayakorn expressed warm wishes to the Chinese people. He highlighted the longstanding partnership with the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism, marking its 22nd anniversary.

“The enduring ties between Chinese and Thai people, encapsulated by the ‘China-Thailand: One Family’ bond, have blended our arts, cultures, lifestyles, and tourism sectors.” – Artthakorn Sirilatthayakorn

Echoing these sentiments, Chinese ambassador Zhang Jianwei emphasized the flourishing friendship between China and Thailand.
Translation: “Let us jointly wish that the people of China and Thailand both enjoy happiness and well-being together during the Year of the Horse.”

The festival features stunning cultural performances and events across multiple locations, including Bangkok and Hat Yai. With elaborate decorations lighting up Yaowarat Road, the celebrations reinforce Thailand’s commitment to tourism and cultural exchange with China.
