Abercrombie & Kent Initiates Construction of Second Luxury Riverboat in Egypt
Abercrombie & Kent celebrates a milestone with the keel laying of its second luxury riverboat on the Nile.
Abercrombie & Kent achieved a notable milestone with the keel laying of its second luxury riverboat on the Nile. The ceremony at The Arab Contractors shipyard in Egypt marked the start of construction for the sister vessel to Nile Seray, which is part of the A&K Sanctuary fleet.
The keel laying is a traditional maritime ceremony signifying the beginning of a ship’s construction. Cristina Levis, CEO of Abercrombie & Kent Travel Group, expressed that this event indicates their commitment to Egypt and reflects the interest travelers have in this destination.
Amr Badr, a senior vice president, highlighted that this milestone reinforces Egypt’s prestige as a luxury destination. The new riverboat, scheduled to launch in 2028, will accommodate 64 guests in 32 luxurious suites, mirroring the design of its sister ship. The vessel will feature high-end amenities such as private balconies, a spa, and top chefs overseeing the dining experience.
Every voyage will also include expert-led excursions, giving guests access to Egypt’s rich archaeological sites.
