
Surge in Russian Bookings to China Explodes by 471%
New data reveals a remarkable increase in Russian travelers booking trips to China during the Spring Festival season.
According to data from Trip.com, inbound travel has gained significant traction during China’s Spring Festival. Notably, bookings from Russia have skyrocketed by 471% compared to last year, while South Korean bookings also saw a considerable rise of 95%.
Further analysis from Fliggy indicated that international flight bookings surged over 400% in the last two weeks compared to the same timeframe last year. The hot spots for entry into China include major cities like Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Beijing.
Qunar also reported a year-over-year increase of nearly 30% in flight reservations by foreign travelers during the Spring Festival. Cities such as Beijing, Guangzhou, and Chengdu are among the top destinations.
Interestingly, there’s a shift as international tourists are opting for less-traveled routes, with places like Lanzhou and Hohhot seeing fourfold increases in visitors.
Analysts from Trip.com suggest that experiencing Spring Festival traditions in China is becoming a new trend among global tourists, underscoring the unique cultural experiences that are revitalizing inbound tourism.
