Bahrain’s national airline, Gulf Air, has unveiled plans to deploy Starlink high-speed internet throughout its fleet beginning in mid-2026. This initiative will furnish passengers with free Wi-Fi throughout their flight experience, enhancing connectivity from boarding to landing.

The memorandum of understanding was endorsed by Gulf Air’s CEO Martin Gauss and the Global Head of Starlink Aviation, Nick Seitz, at a signing event attended by industry leaders.

With the integration of Starlink, developed by SpaceX, passengers will have the capability to stream, engage in gaming, work, and communicate with family and friends while in the air. “The rollout of Starlink across Gulf Air’s fleet is a reflection of our endeavor to improve the passenger journey,” expressed Gulf Air Group Chairman Khalid Hussain Taqi, underscoring how this connectivity aligns with Bahrain’s digital advancement objectives and amplifies the service quality provided by the cabin crew.

The inaugural Gulf Air A320, equipped with Starlink technology, is anticipated to begin operations by mid-2026, with a comprehensive fleet deployment to follow. This advancement cements Bahrain’s status as a forward-thinking aviation hub where technological progress and passenger comfort take precedence in air travel innovation. Gauss pointed out that the service will be available to every passenger, independent of their cabin class or ticket category, thereby reaffirming Gulf Air’s dedication to delivering exceptional connectivity.

Founded in 1950, Gulf Air services over 50 destinations and has achieved recognition as a “Five-Star Major Airline” by APEX for 2026. The airline’s fleet comprises Boeing 787 Dreamliners and Airbus A320/A321 aircraft.
