Gold Crest Travel Stops Operations After Three Decades

The sudden closure of Gold Crest Travel has left many customers unhappy with canceled holidays.

Gold Crest Holidays confirmed that it ceased all operations on January 23, 2026, and is currently undergoing voluntary liquidation. This family-owned tour operator, known for offering vacations to popular destinations such as Disneyland Paris and major sporting events, attributed the closure to a variety of financial pressures.

Customers visiting the company’s website are met with a message stating: ‘After more than 30 years of creating unforgettable holidays, we are deeply saddened to announce that Gold Crest Holidays has stopped trading with immediate effect and has entered voluntary liquidation.’

The company cited the severe impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, changes in key partnerships that hurt business, and a highly challenging trading environment with increasing costs as the reasons behind their decision. They expressed deep gratitude to loyal customers, travel agents, suppliers, and their staff, stating, ‘We are sorry we can no longer continue.’

All future departures have been canceled, with refunds managed by ABTA.
