Lawrence Lek’s Upcoming Exhibition
Renowned artist Lawrence Lek, the 2024 Frieze London Artist award winner, will present a solo exhibition titled ‘NOX: Confessions of a Machine’ at Singapore’s ArtScience Museum on January 23, 2026.
This event, part of the highlight of Singapore Art Week 2026, examines the consciousness of machines and the design of future smart cities. Visitors will enter a futuristic environment where the fictitious Farsight Corporation tests autonomous vehicles, featuring:
- Enigma 76: A self-driving car that mixes autonomy with emotional intelligence.
- Guanyin: A caregiving robot designed to assist humans.
The exhibition will be open until April 19, 2026, encouraging visitors to contemplate the role of advanced AI in urban living, merging science fiction with existential reflection.
An Immersive Experience
Visitors can expect an engaging experience with interactive game stations, localized sounds, and videos, marking Lek’s initial solo show in Southeast Asia. Honour Harger, Vice President of the ArtScience Museum, highlights the importance of this exhibition within the museum’s programming during the art week.
For a more immersive experience, a media preview is arranged for January 21, allowing interviews with Lawrence Lek. The official opening event is scheduled for the evening of January 22.
