If you’re an aviation enthusiast, you might recall that British Airways led the pack with its lie-flat business class seats two decades ago. The Club World seat set the standard for long-haul travel until newer rivals overtook it.

In 2017, I experienced the classic Club World, and I was eager to try its modern counterpart, Club Suites. In recent years, British Airways has made a great effort to modernize this offering across much of its long-haul services. The specifications appear promising: immediate aisle access, privacy doors, and cutting-edge technology.

Ground Experience at Heathrow
Heathrow remains one of my favorite airports for plane spotting, boasting a wide array of international airlines and numerous wide-body aircraft. Terminal 5, which opened in 2008, still impresses despite its age.

After a speedy journey via the underground people mover to the 5B concourse, I explored the Galleries Lounge.

Known to be more serene than its counterparts in 5A.
The dining options were decent for an international lounge, though nothing exceptional.
Flying the Suite
I boarded my flight on time, a 777-200ER operated by British Airways. I loved the Club Suite’s decor — a luxurious blend of grey, deep blues, and metallic touches. This layout offers more consistent seat quality compared to the previous Club World, with dedicated storage spaces and large tables.

The flight attendants provided attentive service throughout our cruise climb, showcasing an array of beverages and meals. Dining began with a delightful tuna tonnato appetizer followed by cornish chicken breast and sticky toffee pudding for dessert.
Overall, the entire experience was nothing short of fantastic!
In summary, the Club Suite is a significant step up from its predecessor; the overall cabin design is stunning, offering ample space, storage, and privacy, making it one of the best choices among competitors.
