Blenheim Palace Launches Captivating Ghost and Gossip Tour
Blenheim Palace introduces an engaging new tour that explores the hidden stories of its past servants.
Blenheim Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Oxfordshire, has unveiled its latest captivating tour, titled “Servants’ Tales: Ghosts, Gossip and Secrets.” This experience, available from January 7 to February 14, 2026, provides a glimpse into the lives of the individuals who worked behind the curtains of this historic estate.
The daily tours kick off at the Life Below Stairs exhibition and guide visitors through the former Kitchen Courtyard, laundry rooms, concealed hallways, staff quarters, the Chapel, and Crypt. The guides narrate stories of servant life, showcasing tales of struggles, social hierarchy, and eerie experiences previously kept under wraps. Notably, one of the chilling tales involves the “Dusting Nanny,” who is rumored to continue her duties beyond death, preparing the palace for significant events like a Duke’s funeral.
Heather Carter, the Managing Director of Visitor Attraction, expressed her enthusiasm for the new venture, sharing, “We’re thrilled to offer guests a unique glimpse into the lives of the people who once kept Blenheim Palace running. The Servants’ Tales: Ghosts, Gossip and Secrets Tour reveals stories of scandal and the supernatural that will intrigue visitors and give everyone a whole new perspective of events that have unfolded in our 300-year history.”
This tour concludes in the Chapel and Crypt, the final resting place of the Dukes and Duchesses of Marlborough, where centuries of family history merge with mystery. Admission to the tour is part of a valid Palace & Gardens Ticket or Palace and Play Pass, granting access to Blenheim Palace and Adventure Play for an entire year.
