IAPCO Establishes Partnership with Vienna's Meeting Destination
The International Association of Professional Congress Organisers (IAPCO) has formed a two-year partnership with Meeting Destination Vienna, aiming to enhance collaboration within the global convention community.
The International Association of Professional Congress Organisers (IAPCO) has announced a new two-year Destination Partnership with Meeting Destination Vienna, represented by the Vienna Convention Bureau, starting January 1, 2026.
This collaboration aims to enhance the global network of convention bureaux collaborating with IAPCO and its accredited Professional Congress Organisers (PCOs).
Vienna’s inclusion in the IAPCO Destination Partner community underscores the necessity of strategic relationships between destinations and professional conference organizations. Such partnerships allow city-wide approaches that improve outcomes for clients, local communities, and international attendees. As part of this collaboration, Vienna will join the judging panel for the IAPCO Partner’s Emerging Leader Award and will host a forthcoming IAPCO Advisory Board Meeting.
Sissi Lignou, President of IAPCO, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “We warmly welcome Vienna to the IAPCO Destination Partner community. Their professionalism, creativity, and commitment to innovation make them a natural fit.”
Anita Paic, Director B2B Management and Vienna Convention Bureau, emphasized Vienna’s strengths as a meeting destination and its dedication to conveying its story to international leaders in conference organizing.
The partnership grants Vienna strategic access to IAPCO’s accredited PCOs, who organized over 21,000 meetings and conferences in 2024, generating an estimated $19.05 billion (€17.87 billion) in economic impact. Vienna’s inclusion in the IAPCO network is anticipated to generate tangible value for organizers and clients, reinforcing its position as a prominent meeting destination.
