CineAsia 2025 Commences in Thailand

The Tourism Authority of Thailand celebrates the launch of CineAsia 2025, showcasing Thailand's significance in the global film industry.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has inaugurated CineAsia 2025, from December 8-11 at Icon Cineconic and True Icon Hall, ICONSIAM. This being the fourth installment of the event in Thailand, it emphasizes the nation’s growing influence within the global film sector, aligning with TAT’s long-term film-tourism strategy under the ‘New Thailand’ initiative.

Hosted by Major Cineplex Group in collaboration with Film Expo Group, CineAsia 2025 gathers over 3,500 participants from 50 nations, including Hollywood filmmakers, international stakeholders, and leading studios from the Asia-Pacific region. The program encompasses technology exhibitions, product presentations, and demonstrations led by experts in distribution and showcase management. Its revival fortifies Thailand’s role as a collaborative hub for industry advancements and promotes the country’s diverse cultural and scenic offerings to attendees from abroad.

Nithee Seeprae stated, “This year’s CineAsia occurs as Thailand moves towards the ‘New Thailand’ strategy, emphasizing quality over quantity to position the country as a premier destination. Through our global campaign ‘Unforgettable Experience: Healing is the New Luxury’, we encourage travelers to explore journeys that rejuvenate their spirit and connect with what matters most. When filmmakers feature Thailand, they bring our narratives, landscapes, and culture into the hearts of millions, translating cinematic experiences into personal journeys.”

TAT’s engagement at CineAsia 2025 underlines its commitment to elevating Thailand as a leading destination for film tourism, focusing on wellness, sustainability, and contemporary culture, values that resonate with today’s travelers seeking authentic experiences. This strategy aims to establish a sustainable tourism ecosystem and showcase the nation’s rich cultural and natural heritage.

Moreover, Thailand is becoming increasingly recognized as a premier filming locale, evidenced by international productions such as Jurassic World and The White Lotus Season 3, which have brought attention to the country’s breathtaking landscapes and renowned hospitality. Local cinema is also thriving, with films like How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies (LAHN MAH) gaining traction, illustrating the creativity and expertise of Thai filmmakers and production crews.

Looking forward, the government is considering expanding incentive programs to attract international filmmakers and stimulate long-term investment, with the aim of creating a world-class environment that nurtures creativity and resonates with global audiences.
