Signing of Agreement by Hotel101 Group with Philippine Government Departments

Hotel101 Group collaborates with significant Philippine government departments to support the IPON Tourism program, providing new opportunities for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in the tourism sector.

Filipino hospitality firm Hotel101 Group recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the country’s Department of Tourism (DOT) and Department of Migrant Workers (DWM) in support of the Balik Bayani sa Turismo (BBST) Programme.

The signing occurred on November 27 at the DOT headquarters in Makati. This partnership aims to promote IPON Tourism, designed to facilitate the sustainable and productive reintegration of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) into Philippine society by providing investment and livelihood opportunities in the tourism sector.

The agreement was signed by Hotel101 Group’s General Manager Charley Magabo, who was joined by tourism secretary Christina Frasco and secretary for migrant workers Hans Leo Cacdac.

Frasco stated: “Today’s signing with IPON Tourism marks a significant component of our partnership with the DMW. This initiative opens pathways for OFWs to engage in tourism through investment opportunities.”

Under this program, OFWs will have the chance to invest in Hotel101 projects such as Hotel101-Davao and Hotel101-Libis Bridgetowne, sharing 30 percent of gross hotel revenues and receiving ten free stay vouchers for any Hotel101 property worldwide.

Magabo emphasized the transparency and accessibility of these investment opportunities for OFWs, making them stakeholders in the hospitality industry. He highlighted that the Group is also expanding into Davao, Cebu, and internationally in Madrid, Spain, and Niseko, Japan.
