AirAsia X Unveils Financial Results for Q3-2025
AirAsia X reports a turnover of RM803.5 million for Q3-2025, showcasing financial growth compared to the previous year.
AirAsia X Berhad has announced its unaudited financial results for the third quarter ending 30th September, revealing a turnover of RM803.5 million in Q3-2025, which shows a slight increase from RM795.0 million from the same period in the previous year.
This growth is attributed to a stronger fare environment and increased ancillary earnings, along with a commendable Passenger Load Factor (PLF) of 82 percent. The company has made strategic decisions to shift various short and medium-haul routes, such as Bangkok, Hong Kong, Amritsar, and Perth, to its sister airline to enhance operational efficiency with cost-effective aircraft.
Benyamin Ismail, the CEO, noted, “This quarter’s performance reflects the resilience of our fare environment, despite it being a traditionally slower travel period. Sustaining an 82 percent PLF is indicative of our strong market presence and the successful ongoing optimization of our network strategy.”
Key Highlights:
- Despite a five percent decline in the number of passengers carried, available seat kilometers increased by nine percent year-on-year.
- Revenue Passenger Kilometers grew by seven percent, hitting 4,570 million, supported by high PLF on routes to China and Japan.
- The average base fare lifted by five percent year-on-year to RM466, as demand ramps up heading into a peak travel season.
- Ancillary revenue increased by five percent year-on-year, totaling RM280.6 million, with a per-passenger increase of eleven percent to RM273.
- Net operating profit rose to RM12.0 million from RM3.0 million last year, aided by favorable fuel costs and a stronger local currency.
- Profit after tax amounted to RM27.8 million, contrasting with RM121.6 million in Q3-2024, which had benefitted from considerable net foreign exchange gains.
