Recent upgrades ensure better accessibility for passengers at Bohol-Panglao and Laguindingan International Airports.

Accessibility Enhancements at Philippine Airports

Key upgrades have been finalized at the Bohol-Panglao International Airport (BPIA) and Laguindingan International Airport (LIA).

Aboitiz InfraCapital Inc. (AIC) has implemented significant upgrades to ensure better access for all passengers, including senior citizens, those with disabilities, and families with children. These enhancements include the repair of elevators and improvements to power supply systems.

In a recent press release, AIC CEO Cosette Canilao stated that these renovations are essential for improved safety and efficiency: “These improvements are important infrastructure upkeep that reflect our shared commitment with the government.”

Furthermore, AIC has completed maintenance to ensure quicker baggage handling and services, making airport operations smoother during outages. The strategy employs a public-private partnership aimed at modernizing regional airports.

Future Development Plans

AIC is planning additional enhancements that will involve terminal expansions and structural updates to boost the airports’ capacities and efficiencies.
