Jazeera Airways Receives TiSeat 2X Seats From Expliseat
The TiSeat 2X delivery marks a significant milestone in Jazeera Airways' partnership with Expliseat, enhancing operational efficiency and sustainability.
Jazeera Airways and Expliseat have announced the delivery of TiSeat 2X seats for Jazeera’s Airbus A320 family fleet at the Dubai Airshow 2025. This marks Expliseat’s entry into the Middle East market and highlights its commitment to supporting carriers through their growth phases with proven lightweight technology.
The TiSeat 2X delivery signifies a crucial milestone in the partnership between the two companies. The carrier is receiving both TiSeat 2X lite and TiSeat 2X prime configurations, allowing for tailored cabin layouts per route while maximizing operational efficiency.
With the new seats, Jazeera Airways can expect approximately 1.2 metric tons of weight reduction per aircraft, leading to lower fuel burn and a reduction of up to 126 kg in CO₂ emissions per flight hour.
Barathan Pasupathi, Chief Executive Officer of Jazeera Airways, stated: “As Jazeera scales toward a 50-aircraft fleet and a 100-destination network, investing in the TiSeat 2X prepares us for smarter, more efficient growth. This upgrade provides us a decisive edge in opening new routes—especially longer sectors and underserved markets—while enhancing the economics of our existing network.”
The inaugural TiSeat 2X flight is set for November 28, 2025, marking the first Expliseat seat in commercial service on an A320 neo aircraft. This delivery strategically positions Expliseat in the Middle East aviation market, building on recent deployments with Air France and Air Canada.
Driving Efficiency Through Next-Generation Seating Solutions
Built with a titanium and carbon fiber composite frame, the TiSeat 2X achieves up to 30% weight reduction in comparison to conventional economy seats, while offering improved durability and passenger comfort.
Expliseat is operational worldwide with over 10,000 TiSeats, having logged over 60 million flight hours. As Jazeera Airways expands operations with an additional 26 aircraft set for delivery from 2027, the investment in efficient cabin technology sets the stage for sustainable growth.
