American Express GBT Introduces Tailored Logistics Platform for Energy, Mining, and Marine Sectors
The new platform enhances travel efficiency for industries with dynamic workforce movements.
The solution has been designed to meet the unique travel requirements of its Energy, Mining, and Marine (EMM) customers, offering high-speed, flexible booking capabilities that can also serve other sectors with dynamic workforce movements.
American Express Global Business Travel (Amex GBT) unveiled its Crew and Group Logistics Platform, a new solution custom-tailored for EMM clients. Built following extensive research with customers, it leverages Amex GBT’s decades of technology deployment experience in the sector.
The Crew and Group Logistics Platform aims to streamline travel for industries characterized by large, dynamic workforce movements. Tested through more than half a million transactions with EMM clients in 2025, it processes up to ten bookings per minute for those with high-volume travel preferences, enhancing efficiency.
In addition to high-speed processing, the platform provides flexible booking options to meet clients’ diverse needs. It can integrate seamlessly with clients’ workflow systems, facilitating automated bookings and supporting batch spreadsheet imports of travel schedules. Travelers have the advantage of multiple itinerary options to choose from, ensuring tailored solutions that fit their requirements. Furthermore, round-the-clock support from Amex GBT’s travel teams is available for both travelers and booking teams.
Swapna Nair, Head of Energy, Mining & Marine at Amex GBT, remarked that the platform showcases their understanding and commitment to the EMM sector and oil and gas customers. “We have been testing and building this purpose-built technology with client input and feedback to address the unique operational intricacies of these industries.”
The patented technology framework adheres to client travel and payment policies, offering real-time updates and proactive management of travel disruptions.
Although primarily designed for EMM and oil and gas sectors, this robust technology can also effectively serve clients in media and production, technology and consulting, as well as crisis response.
