Cathay proudly revealed Taking Off Again with Kai Tak at the West Bridge of Kai Tak Sports Park (KTSP), a landmark in Hong Kong for sports, leisure, and entertainment, on November 11. This audio-visual experience offers a captivating journey through the shared history of Cathay and its city, Hong Kong.

More than a passage
As the exclusive Founding Travel Partner of KTSP, Cathay is dedicated to promoting sports, arts, and culture, and organizing major events that showcase Hong Kong globally. The West Bridge offers a 100-meter-long audio-visual timeline connecting the Sung Wong Toi MTR to the Kai Tak Stadium. According to Lavinia Lau, this site highlights significant milestones in Cathay’s journey and aims to inspire visitors.
Key remarks include:
Lau expressed, “Kai Tak holds a vital place in our history, symbolizing the start of our journey. This bridge serves as more than just a crossing; it’s a living exhibition of our shared pride.”
John Sharkey added, “This feature highlights the enduring connection between Cathay and Kai Tak, an important chapter in Hong Kong’s aviation story.”
A distinct exhibition experience
The West Bridge is the Greater Bay Area’s premiere aviation-themed audio-visual attraction in a sporting venue. Visitors experience a two-minute show capturing Cathay’s beginnings in the 1940s and its evolution through the decades. It culminates with showcases of sponsored athletes and aircraft performances at major events.
Visitors are encouraged to immerse themselves in the tale of Cathay, Kai Tak, and Hong Kong.
