Experience and Vision

With extensive experience in the private sector, Al Nowais has served as Corporate Vice President at Rotana Hotels and chairs the Abu Dhabi Chamber’s Tourism Working Group. She also plays a vital role in promoting women’s initiatives through her involvement with the Abu Dhabi Businesswomen Council and Les Roches Hospitality Academy.

“Tourism can uplift nations and unite humanity,” Al Nowais claimed during her address to the Assembly, emphasizing the transformative power of tourism on a global scale.

Her vision includes five core priorities for her tenure: responsible tourism, capacity building, leveraging technology for good, innovative financing, and promoting smart governance, all aimed at enhancing the sector’s inclusivity and resilience.

Al Nowais was nominated by UN Tourism’s Executive Council in May and confirmed by the 160 Member States during the Assembly’s 26th General session, marking a historic moment for the agency.
