Netflix and Embratur Unveil Virtual Travel Guide to Showcase Brazil at WTM 2025
A new collaboration between Netflix and Embratur aims to promote Brazil through a virtual travel guide featuring iconic filming locations.
Netflix and Embratur (the Brazilian Tourist Board) announced during the World Travel Market (WTM) in London the launch of a virtual travel guide designed to help travelers discover Brazil through real-life locations featured in Brazilian Netflix series, films, and reality shows.
The guide’s first focus is the Amazon region, showcasing productions like the miniseries Rivers of Faith, the series Invisible City 2, and the film Rich in Love 2. Fans can explore the Amazon’s nature, festivities, urban life, cuisine, and culture through this guide.
The announcement took place at Embratur’s booth during WTM, attended by Marcelo Freixo, President of Embratur; Antonio Patriota, Ambassador of Brazil to the UK; and Sergio Vinay, Netflix’s Director of Strategic Policy Partnerships.
“Brazil is not only very important for Netflix but also a country rich in culture and landscapes. This guide invites viewers to experience the country closely, living out the stories they’ve come to love on screen,” said Sergio Vinay.
“Netflix serves as a powerful showcase. This partnership emphasizes the potential of Brazilian audiovisual production to inspire exploration of our culture and people. It demonstrates how audiovisual storytelling and tourism can work hand in hand for development,” added Marcelo Freixo.
This initiative strengthens Brazil’s role in Netflix’s global strategy for audiovisual tourism, resembling similar projects in South Korea, France, Spain, and Thailand. Each country aims to leverage audiovisual storytelling to inspire audiences to explore the real world through beloved narratives. The Brazilian guide is set to expand in 2026 with new themes such as the Pantanal, cuisine, and beaches.
