Cambodia's Techo Airport Advances with Otis

Otis enhances passenger mobility at Cambodia's new Techo International Airport, supporting the country's growth in aviation.

Enhancing Passenger Flow at Cambodia’s Techo Airport

At Cambodia’s Techo Airport, Otis elevators and escalators are enhancing passenger mobility throughout the facility. The Techo International Airport was officially inaugurated recently, marking a significant development in the nation’s aviation landscape, with Otis Worldwide Corporation playing a key role in its logistics.

Otis leverages its project management expertise and state-of-the-art technology, making it the preferred partner for crucial airport installations worldwide. Notably, it was involved in the extension of Terminal 2 at Incheon International Airport in Korea, which includes Asia’s longest continuous walkways.

Otis Contributions to Techo

Nicolas Lopez, Otis’ Southeast Asia senior vice president expressed, “Otis is honored to assist Cambodia in enhancing its aviation infrastructure to improve global connectivity and economic progress. This airport is designed to provide a superior passenger experience with reliable and efficient mobility solutions, aligning with the building’s aesthetic appeal.”

Currently, 118 elevators and escalators have been installed and are operational at Techo International Airport. This includes 52 Gen2™ elevator systems that use gearless technology and energy-efficient Otis ReGen regenerative drive systems.

Moreover, the airport features 36 515NPE escalators and 30 moving walkways designed for heavy traffic.

Future Development

The Techo International Airport is undergoing a phased development overseen by the Royal Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia alongside Overseas Cambodian Investment Corporation (OCIC). The first phase is projected to accommodate 13 million passengers, with future expansions targeting 30 million and 50 million in subsequent phases.
