From September 28 to October 8, Haikou, the capital of China’s Hainan Province, gained international focus with its colorful public art activities. Nearly 150 events, including concerts on the lawn, opera salons, and street parades, have transformed this “Land of International Performing Arts” into a vast palace of art.

This city’s vibrant atmosphere during the 2025 Haikou Art Week allows tourists to engage in a cultural journey that merges tradition with modernity, as models walk on volcanic stone runways wearing traditional garments and art displays flourish along historic streets.

A visitor reflected, “This trip is particularly meaningful. My kids not only learned about history but also developed artistic inspirations. This is not something you get in the classroom.”

The numerous events during Haikou Art Week attract global tourists, showcasing the city as a prime vacation destination and enhancing tourism revenue, generating 1.414 billion yuan from an impressive 1.1345 million tourists during the National Day holiday.
