Aehcos Predicts 90.42% Occupancy in Málaga for the Hispanidad Bridge

The Association of Hotel Businessmen of the Costa del Sol (Aehcos) forecasts a remarkable hotel occupancy rate for the upcoming Hispanidad Bridge, with specific details on various regions within Málaga.

The Association of Hotel Entrepreneurs of the Costa del Sol (Aehcos) has provided its forecasts for the upcoming Hispanidad Bridge, which will extend until Monday, October 13th, and will be a public holiday in Andalucía, among other autonomous communities (Aragón, Asturias, Castilla y León, Extremadura, and Melilla).

Based on data gathered by Aehcos, the average occupancy for the province of Málaga is projected to reach 90.42% over those days, marking an increase of 1.47 percentage points from the last bridge that included three nights in 2023, where the average occupancy was 88.95%. It’s worth noting that in 2025, there are three nights compared to the four from the aforementioned 2023 bridge.

In terms of regional distribution, the forecast highlights Benalmádena with an estimated occupancy of 96.28%, and the city of Ronda, expected to achieve 93% occupancy of its rooms. These figures position these locations as the main demand centers for the period. Regarding the composition of guests, predictions indicate that 78% of those staying will be international tourists, while the remaining 22% will consist of domestic tourists. All this occurs during a period that, despite its shorter duration compared to 2023 (three nights instead of four), maintains a reassuring dynamic in the tourist recovery of the Costa del Sol.

José Luque, president of Aehcos, stated, “The Hispanidad Bridge seems to promise a notable occupancy rate, although in this analysis, three nights have been counted when in 2023 the bridge was extended, by one night. It’s worth mentioning that last year, the holiday fell on a Saturday, making the effective bridge non-existent and we can’t compare the figures. However, looking back at 2023, it seems we will surpass those numbers even with this bridge being shorter than that year.”

Aehcos’s predictions point to solid occupancy that could translate into positive consequences for hospitality in the Costa del Sol during the festive period. If these percentages hold true, Málaga might confirm an upward trend in demand during the Hispanidad Bridge, with Benalmádena and Ronda setting the standards for highest occupancy within the province.

For tourists who are already planning their getaway, these figures provide guidance on destinations where they are more likely to find availability and competitive rates, as well as the expectation of relatively vibrant tourism activity in the most sought-after municipalities in the Costa del Sol.
