MICHELIN Guide Introduces the First Global Selection of MICHELIN Keys: A New Standard in Hospitality Excellence

The MICHELIN Guide has unveiled its inaugural global selection of MICHELIN Keys during an exclusive ceremony in Paris, showcasing the world's top hotels that meet the highest standards in hospitality.

The MICHELIN Guide recently introduced its first global selection of MICHELIN Keys during an exclusive ceremony held at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. Following last year’s launch of these awards in 15 premier tourist destinations, guide inspectors traveled the world to select from over 7,000 hotels, choosing those with the most exceptional experiences.

A total of 2,457 hotels were awarded one (1,742), two (572), or three (143) MICHELIN Keys globally, representing the ‘crème de la crème’ of the hospitality industry while meeting the highest hospitality and quality standards set by the MICHELIN Guide.

“125 years after its founding as a guide for discerning travelers, the MICHELIN Guide redefines excellence in the world of hospitality. Just as MICHELIN Stars recognize the most exceptional restaurants, MICHELIN Keys now distinguish hotels that provide truly extraordinary stays, where design, service, and location converge to create unforgettable moments. With the introduction of MICHELIN Keys, the Guide establishes a new global independent benchmark for exceptional hotel experiences,” states Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the MICHELIN Guide.

Furthermore, the MICHELIN Guide awards four special prizes acknowledging hotels for achievements that transcend traditional categories—celebrating excellence and uniqueness. These include:

  • MICHELIN Architecture and Design Award: Highlights hotels whose architecture inspires unforgettable travels. This year’s award went to Atlantis The Royal in Dubai, UAE, known for its monumental geometric design.
  • MICHELIN Wellness Award: Acknowledges hotels with pioneering wellness programs that nurture the body and spirit, awarded this year to Bürgenstock Resort Switzerland.
  • MICHELIN Local Connection Award: Recognizes hotels that offer guests immersive connections with their surroundings, awarded to La Fiermontina Ocean in Morocco.
  • MICHELIN Opening of the Year Award: Celebrates newly opened hotels that made an exceptional impact in their first year, given to The Burman Hotel in Tallinn, Estonia.
