Emirates Unveils Centre of Hospitality Excellence
A new facility focused on enhancing luxury training for cabin crew in Dubai.
Emirates has inaugurated a state-of-the-art facility in Dubai designed to deliver a premium training experience to approximately 25,000 cabin crew members, emphasizing the mastery of hospitality excellence. This USD 8 million training center includes a spacious restaurant and lounge accommodating 170 guests, sophisticated presentation kitchens, and eight technologically advanced classrooms. By year’s end, over 10,000 Emirates cabin crew members will have been trained in this new center.
The Emirates Centre of Hospitality Excellence is dedicated to an array of elevated service training programs based on Michelin-star quality standards, which encompass fine dining protocols, premium guest interaction, and exemplary table service skills. In collaboration with the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne in Switzerland since 2020, Emirates has developed an enhanced hospitality strategy that has proven successful. This center stands as a testament to that strategy, inspiring its cabin crew to embody the four pillars of hospitality during flights: excellence, attentiveness, innovation, and passion.
Thomas Ney, DSVP of Service Delivery at Emirates, stated: “Emirates continues to elevate the ‘fly better’ experience for our valued customers. We have invested in the highest levels of luxury hospitality training for our cabin crew, enabling them to connect with customers in a meaningful way and create unforgettable moments. We are thrilled to provide immersive training that allows our crew to directly experience the cuisine, beverages, ambiance, and hospitality Emirates is known for. This is how we empower world-class cabin crew.”
The center not only trains newly recruited cabin crew but also offers refresher and upgrade modules for seasoned crew members throughout their careers.
Immersive Fine Dining Experiences
To reinforce investment and training quality, the Emirates Centre of Hospitality Excellence allows cabin crew to enjoy a gourmet four-course meal, prepared by Emirates’ master chefs. These meals feature some of the most popular Signature dishes from Business and First Class. The elite training team serves them, exemplifying Emirates’ commitment to its renowned seven-star hospitality. The objectives of this initiative focus on authentic, personalized customer interactions.
Bespoke Culinary Sessions with Veterans
In the innovative culinary training section, which blends professional restaurant techniques with airline galley practices, trained cabin crew learn plating artistry from experienced chefs. They discover how to balance presentations that resemble fine art, enhancing the sensory experience of dining with Emirates.
The Art of Service Training
This communication-centric course exceeds basic service introduction, allowing cabin crew to grasp the deeper meanings embedded in luxurious dining experiences. Beyond mastering silverware usage and plate presentation, participants learn conversational subtleties that facilitate personalized guest interactions. This unique training was meticulously designed based on extensive research conducted across numerous Michelin-starred establishments worldwide.
Emirates reflects its commitment to evolving cabin crew training to ensure that staff meet and exceed customer expectations in every interaction. Currently, the airline is proactive in recruiting cabin crew globally.
