Pittsburgh International Airport to Host New Terminal Celebration Featuring the Pittsburgh Symphony and Jeff Goldblum

The upcoming gala at Pittsburgh International Airport will showcase local talent and celebrate the opening of its new terminal.

In 2021, Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) launched its Terminal Modernisation Project (TMP). This ambitious $1.1 billion initiative aims to upgrade facilities by creating a new, consolidated terminal that replaces outdated structures.

The opening of this new terminal is a significant event for Pittsburgh, as it highlights the region’s culture and economic power. Jeff Goldblum, a native of Pittsburgh, is set to return for a gala on October 3, 2025, during which he will perform alongside members of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. This event is part of a series of celebrations preceding the official opening expected later this year.

Goldblum expressed his excitement, stating, “I’m more than thrilled and delighted to be part of this glorious event back in my beloved hometown. What a jazzy dream come true – there’s no place like home!”

Leading up to the gala, a Public Trial is scheduled for September 20, where public participants will test the new terminal’s systems. Following that, a Community Open House is planned for October 11, which will welcome over 10,000 members of the community to explore the new terminal.

Christina Cassotis, CEO of the airport, remarked, “The opening of Pittsburgh’s new terminal is an opportunity for this region to showcase its best assets on a global stage across all business sectors. From global Fortune 500 companies to tech start-ups, this region is a business and arts powerhouse, and the new terminal is the front door to that story.”
